Hip hop mogul Russell Simmons is being sued by a former music video producer who claims he pinned her down on his bed and raped her when she visited his New York apartment in the late 90s.
“Ms. Doe rejected his advance and told him to ‘get off’ and ‘stop’ several times,” the suit says. “She told him she was ‘serious’ and she ‘meant it.’ But Ms. Doe was forcefully pinned, could not move under his weight and Mr. Simmons would not listen to her.”
Simmons has faced similar allegations from many woman in recent years, but insists he's innocent. “Mr. Simmons has always maintained that he has never engaged in non-consensual sexual relationships with anyone,” his attorney said of this latest suit. “And he has voluntarily taken a number of lie detector tests that support that.”
