The week got off to a wild start when Kodak Black had the internet collectively turning its head in disgust at an impromptu freestyle he surprise-dropped for his fans over the weekend.
On Sunday (July 31), someone from the Florida rap star’s team uploaded a short clip of Kodak dropping some rhymes from behind bars during a phone call with an associate to his Instagram. One bar in particular included a line where he threatened to punch City Girls femcee Yung Miami in the stomach. Miami is currently pregnant with her second child with boyfriend 808 Mafia’s Southside.
The controversial lyrics prompted immediate backlash on social media with many calling for his permanent cancellation. It also provoked a response from Southside, who hit back against Kodak with his own venom on Instagram this Monday (July 29). Kodak tried to instigate some rap beef with Southside in a follow-up post challenging the producer to rap battle.
And it seems like Southside is cooking up something for Kodak. Later that night, a fan account grabbed a clip from the producer’s Instagram Stories that showed him in the studio seemingly whipping up a diss track.
Now, Miami has stepped in to check Kodak herself. On July 30, XXL Magazine shared a screengrab of an exchange between Miami and a Kodak fan that shows she is clearly not bothered by Kodak’s verbal taunt.
“Poor a** n***a Kodak ain’t dust s**t,” she clapped back at a fan who suggested that she and Southside had taken an L. Many fans have been linking the exchange to some jealousy on Kodak’s end due to a music video he and Yung Miami shot together, “Christmas in Miami,” where the 22-year-old proposed to her with a Ring Pop.
